Caravan Ingredients is committed to creating innovative solutions for both today and tomorrow. We have an Innovation Center which works to create cutting edge technologies that will enable the baking and food industries to meet the needs of consumers and customers in the future. Our Product Development Center is dedicated to developing customized, value added solutions for our customers with a short term response. These teams consist of a total of 33 scientists and applications specialists including 7 PhD's, 4 Master in Science degreed professionals, food scientists and bakers. They work together in our R&D lab located in Lenexa, Kansas.
The Innovation Center scientists place their efforts on long term, technology based projects of 1 to 5 years. The focus of their projects is primarily emulsifiers and enzyme applications.
Customer focused, shorter terms projects are completed in our Product Development Center (PDC), which completes an average of 400 projects per year. This team also conducts vitamin assays and product analysis. Market trend information, which is pulled together by our Consumer Insights team, is transitioned to the PDC for menu development and product ideation.
